WaterWatch Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 31, 2026 · Publisher: Quantum Nonsense LLC · Contact: support@quantumnonsense.com

This policy explains how WaterWatch, an app published by Quantum Nonsense LLC, handles information. It is written to reflect what the app actually does, not generic boilerplate.

Summary

  • WaterWatch has no WaterWatch account, no login, and no Quantum Nonsense backend.
  • WaterWatch contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK.
  • WaterWatch does not perform behavioral tracking, does not sell personal information, and does not participate in cross-app tracking.
  • WaterWatch does not transmit your hydration history, height, weight, exercise data, Apple Health data, hydration goals, or achievement history to Quantum Nonsense LLC.

Local data

WaterWatch stores information locally on your devices, including as applicable:

  • Hydration entries
  • Preferences, including unit choice and preferred bottle amount
  • Goal settings and historical goal records
  • Profile fallback values used to estimate hydration needs
  • Achievement state

If you use both an iPhone and an Apple Watch, WaterWatch synchronizes app information between your own devices using Apple's platform mechanisms (such as Watch Connectivity). The Watch complication and widget use a small shared local snapshot between the Watch app and the widget extension, stored on-device. None of this local synchronization creates a Quantum Nonsense server-side account or database — there is no server in the loop.

Apple Health

Apple Health integration is optional. WaterWatch works without it.

When you enable Apple Health integration, WaterWatch may read:

  • Dietary water
  • Height
  • Body mass (weight)
  • Apple Exercise Time

WaterWatch may write dietary water entries that you log in the app back to Apple Health.

These are used to unify your hydration history across sources, to optionally personalize hydration estimates using body information, and to optionally adjust your goal using exercise time. Apple's HealthKit framework does not tell an app with certainty whether you denied read access to a given data type versus that data simply not being present — so WaterWatch cannot always distinguish "no permission" from "no data," and its behavior in Settings is written with that limitation in mind.

WaterWatch does not use Health information for advertising, for building marketing profiles, for sale to third parties, or for tracking. Health data you grant access to is handled under Apple's HealthKit platform protections. Any records WaterWatch writes to Apple Health are then controlled separately through the Health app and are not automatically removed if you later delete WaterWatch.

Location & local weather conditions

Local Conditions is optional and is off by default. WaterWatch works without it.

When you enable Local Conditions, WaterWatch uses your device's location to estimate local temperature, humidity, and altitude, which feed into the environmental component of your hydration estimate. To do this, WaterWatch requests local conditions through Apple's platform weather services (Apple Weather / WeatherKit), which necessarily involves providing your location to Apple in order to fulfill that request.

Quantum Nonsense LLC does not operate its own location or weather backend and does not receive or retain a server-side copy of your location or of your WeatherKit requests. Apple processes those requests under its own applicable terms and privacy practices as the platform operator — Apple is not a Quantum Nonsense analytics partner, and this integration exists solely to provide the optional Local Conditions feature.

Apple Watch

The Apple Watch companion app can log hydration entries while offline. Those entries are stored locally on the Watch and synchronized to your paired iPhone later through Apple's platform connectivity once a connection is available. No Quantum Nonsense server is involved at any point in that process.

Data collected by Quantum Nonsense vs. data processed by Apple

It's worth being precise about the difference between these two things:

  • Data collected by Quantum Nonsense LLC: based on our review of the app, WaterWatch does not send your app data — hydration history, Health data, location, goals, or achievements — to Quantum Nonsense LLC or to any third-party analytics or advertising company.
  • Data processed by Apple platform services: optional features (Apple Health, Local Conditions / WeatherKit, Watch Connectivity) are provided using Apple's own on-device and platform services, which necessarily process some information (such as location, for a weather lookup) in order to function.

Support communications

If you email support@quantumnonsense.com, Quantum Nonsense LLC will receive whatever information you choose to include in that email — for example your email address, message contents, screenshots, or diagnostic details you provide. We use that information to respond to and support your request.

Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive Health information in support emails unless it's actually necessary to resolve your issue. Support communications are separate from the app itself: WaterWatch does not automatically attach or upload your hydration, Health, or location records to a support email — anything you send is something you chose to send.

Retention & deletion

WaterWatch data remains on your local devices unless you edit or delete the applicable entries, clear app data, or remove WaterWatch from your device. Uninstalling WaterWatch removes its local application data, subject to normal Apple platform behavior.

Data previously written to Apple Health is controlled separately through the Health app and is not necessarily deleted just because WaterWatch is uninstalled — you can review and delete it there.

Support email records may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond to and support your request and to meet normal business or legal obligations.

Managing permissions

You can control or revoke WaterWatch's access to Apple Health and Location at any time through Apple's system settings and Health app controls. Core hydration logging does not require either optional integration.

Children

WaterWatch is a general wellness utility and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. WaterWatch contains no accounts, no social networking, and no behavioral advertising or tracking of any kind.

Medical disclaimer

WaterWatch provides general hydration estimates for wellness tracking and is not medical advice. Individual needs can vary. If you have a physician-directed fluid target or restriction, follow your healthcare professional's guidance rather than WaterWatch's estimate. WaterWatch is not a medical device and is not diagnostic, clinical, or preventive treatment.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as WaterWatch changes. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the version currently in force. Because WaterWatch has no accounts or email list, we cannot send you a direct notice when this policy changes — please check back here periodically.
