Frequently asked questions
Does WaterWatch require an account?
No. WaterWatch has no login and no Quantum Nonsense account system. All of your data stays on your own devices.
Does WaterWatch work without Apple Health?
Yes. Apple Health integration is optional — core hydration logging works fully without it.
Why isn't height, weight, or Health data showing up?
Apple Health integration must be enabled, and WaterWatch needs permission to read the relevant data types (height, body mass, dietary water, or Apple Exercise Time). If a value still doesn't appear, it may simply not be present in Health yet, or WaterWatch may not currently have permission for that specific data type — check Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › WaterWatch on your iPhone to review what access is granted.
Why aren't Local Conditions working?
Local Conditions is an optional feature that requires Location permission and an internet connection to fetch current weather data. Check that Location access is enabled for WaterWatch, and that your device has connectivity.
Does WaterWatch work offline?
Core hydration logging works fully offline. Features that depend on live data, such as Local Conditions, are unavailable without a network connection until it's restored.
How does Apple Watch sync work?
The Apple Watch app can log hydration entries while offline. Those entries are saved locally on the Watch and sync to your paired iPhone automatically once connectivity is available.
How do I change or delete a hydration entry?
From Today's list, tap an entry to edit its amount or time, or swipe left on an entry and tap Delete. Editing and deleting is available for today's entries; past days shown in History are currently view-only.
How do I change units, my preferred bottle amount, or my goal?
Open Settings within WaterWatch. Under Display Unit, use the segmented control to switch between Fluid Ounces and Milliliters. Under Preferred Bottle Size, enter your bottle's size directly. Under Daily Goal, tap Set Custom Goal to enter your own target, or Use Recommended Goal to revert to WaterWatch's calculated recommendation.
How do I manage Apple Health permissions?
On iPhone, go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › WaterWatch to review or change which Health data types WaterWatch can read and write.
How do I manage Location permission?
On iPhone, go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › WaterWatch to review or change location access used for Local Conditions.
How do I remove my WaterWatch data?
You can delete individual entries from within the app, or remove all local WaterWatch data by uninstalling the app from your device. Data previously written to Apple Health is stored separately and is managed independently through the Health app — uninstalling WaterWatch does not remove it.
Is WaterWatch medical advice?
No. WaterWatch provides general wellness estimates for hydration tracking, not medical advice. See the Privacy Policy for the full disclaimer.
